Róisín Murphy
For three decades, Róisín Murphy has been carving out her own path in electronic pop music. The Irish singer first rose to prominence in the 1990s as the frontwoman of Moloko, the duo she formed with producer Mark Brydon. With songs such as Sing It Back, the group became a mainstay of the electronic music scene.
After four albums with Moloko, Murphy embarked on a solo career in which experimentation and reinvention have remained a constant. Her debut album Ruby Blue was released in 2005, followed by records including Overpowered, Hairless Toys and Róisín Machine. Throughout these albums, she moves freely between pop, disco, house, techno and electronica, never staying within the boundaries of a single genre for long.
In 2023, Murphy released Hit Parade, her sixth solo album and a collaboration with German producer DJ Koze. The album reached number five on the UK Albums Chart, marking her highest position as a solo artist to date.
Murphy brings that same individuality to the stage. Music, performance and fashion come together in her live shows, with striking costumes playing an important part. She has performed at festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella and Primavera Sound, as well as at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
