1999
Blues and Rock are spectacularly mixed with female pop and hilarious opera. Zucchero charms the audience with blistering versions of his his hits and a giant blow-up chicken. Status Quo heats up the room, and Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt invite their parents, ‘because you have to come see us now: we are performing with a big orchestra!’. Among this violence, Swedish Emilia shines as ‘Big Girl’, and those who got to see Natalie Choquette perform her spaghetti act will never forget. Surprise guests are Stijn Meuris, Paul Michiels, Johan Verminnen and Clouseau - the latter causing a small earthquake each time they appear, so that is decided to have them perform their own concert with orchestra in the Sportpaleis in 2000. The rest is ‘history’.
