Putting together the bill for this edition takes some doing, with the last artist confirmed only on the day of the press conference (in September): Grace Jones is a world star, and she doesn’t let any timing be imposed. She brings 4 songs throughout the show, in a different outfit each time, including ‘Slave To The Rhythm’, during which she keeps a hula hoop effortlessly spinning. Boy George is kindness itself, and John Fogerty brings a selection of timeless songs. The young violinist Charlie Siem creates a furore with music from Vivaldi and Paganini, and John covers Queen as if he has never done anything else. There are again surprise guests: Barry Hay, singer of Golden Earring, and Sir Cliff Richard, who will then join the tour to Germany.
