Spurred by the sponsor in the Netherlands, more pop artists are invited: under the heading of ‘Pop Classics’, Beverly Craven (Promise Me), Steve Harley (Sebastian), Randy Crawford (Street Life) and Roger Hodgson (Breakfast in America, Give A Little Bit, Fool’s Overture) come to perform their best-known hits. For Hodgson, it is his first performance after leaving Supertramp in 1983. John Miles puts together an ‘electric band’ for the first time, accompanying all the pop artists. As Cristopher Cross cancels last-minute due to illness, John is given the opportunity to perform ‘Music’ – it is Roger Hodgson who kindly asks him to do so.
